How long it takes

The wedding-day makeup takes around 90 minutes, and the trial around 60 minutes. For the wedding morning we set the time in advance, so it fits with your hair schedule and the photographer.

How it looks in photographs, and years from now

I pay particular attention to how the makeup reads both in real life and in photo and video. I want the skin to have a natural glow and to look beautiful up close, and the makeup to stay just as elegant years from now, when you look at your wedding photographs again.

Whatever style you choose, the result has to be about you: a luminous, elegant, authentic version of you, not a person you do not recognise.

Strip or cluster lashes are included with any type of makeup and I choose them according to your features and your preferences, from discreet options through to a stronger lash.

What happens at the trial

The trial lasts around 60 minutes and it is the moment when we test ideas, shades and different styles together, to find what suits you and which version you feel best in. I adapt the makeup to your features and to the whole look of the wedding, from the dress and the hair to the style of the event.

The look chosen at the trial does not have to be identical to the one on the wedding day. We can keep the elements you liked and adapt them later, according to your preferences.

I recommend the trial at least a week before the wedding, so that on the day you come without worrying about choosing the makeup and you know you will have a look you feel like yourself in.

What products I use

I work with professional products bought by me. I am not a brand ambassador and I have no paid collaborations, so I choose strictly what holds up on skin and what looks good in photographs.

My kit includes YSL, Hourglass, Lancôme, Charlotte Tilbury, Pat McGrath, Natasha Denona, Make Up For Ever, MAC, Nars, Huda Beauty, Makeup by Mario, Rare Beauty and Fenty. For every bride I combine from several of them, depending on the skin type and on how long the event lasts.

Open from 5 in the morning

I work between 5:00 and 23:00. For a morning ceremony I can start early, so you have time for hair and for the photographer without rushing.

I travel to the venue, in Bacău and the surrounding area. The travel fee is agreed when booking, depending on the distance and on the time I need to be there.

I also go further than the county. For long distances I work with a minimum of two or three makeups on the same day, so the journey makes sense for both of us.

16 years of makeup

I have been doing makeup since 2010. I was invited as Head Makeup Artist at Miss England, at London Fashion Week and at private themed parties, where I build looks around a concept. I worked with the jewellery brand OPAL, on collection shoots.

For a bride that means one simple thing: I have seen enough skin types, enough lighting and enough long days to know what holds and what gives way.

How much is bridal makeup in Bacău?

The Complete Package, with the trial, the wedding-day makeup and the evening Makeup Refresh, is 1000 RON. The Bridal Package, with the trial and the wedding day, is 800 RON. The Bridal plus Godmother or mother of the bride Package is 1200 RON. The wedding-day makeup on its own is 600 RON, the trial separately 400 RON, and a Makeup Refresh on its own 200 RON. The Bridal Group Experience, for the bride plus at least four people, is 2200 RON without the bridal trial, or 2500 RON with the trial.

How long does bridal makeup take?

Around 90 minutes for the wedding day and around 60 minutes for the trial, depending on the look.

Do you do a trial before the wedding?

Yes. At the trial we test the look, the shades and the staying power, so the wedding day holds no surprises. The trial is 400 RON and is done separately.

Does bridal makeup last all day?

Yes. Staying power comes from properly prepping the skin, professional products and setting. It holds through emotions, photos and dancing, from morning to night.

Do you travel to the venue?

Yes, I travel in Bacău and the surrounding area (Onești, Moinești, Comănești, Buhuși, plus Roman, Piatra Neamț and Adjud). I also travel across Romania and abroad on request, for weddings, events and shoots. The cost is set at booking, depending on distance.

Do you travel for destination weddings?

Yes. I travel abroad for weddings and larger events, and I have worked in Romania, England and Spain. The destination work I have done so far has come through brides who already knew my work, often because they had seen my makeup on someone else, and wanted me with them. I travel with my kit in hand luggage, never in the hold, so the products always arrive with me.

How much does a destination wedding makeup artist cost?

I quote a fixed fee for a maximum number of people, and it depends on the season and the location, because flight prices change through the year. I book and pay for my own flight and build it into that fee. The couple covers accommodation for two nights and meals. Tell me the date and the destination and I will give you the exact figure.

Why two nights of accommodation?

Because ideally I fly in the day before the wedding. That way I am already there and certain that I have arrived and everything is in order, with nothing left depending on the wedding morning itself.

How does the trial work for a destination wedding?

For a destination wedding a trial is usually not necessary. Brides who book me abroad have already seen my work and know what they are getting. We agree on everything in advance, by message and by photo, and on the wedding morning we simply take the time we need. If you are in Romania before the wedding, we can also do a trial in the studio.

How many people can you make up on the wedding day?

There is a maximum number of people included in the fee, and once that is set you can arrange the order between yourselves. I ask in advance what kind of makeup each person wants, so I know exactly which products to bring with me.

Do you stay for touch-ups, and do you work pre-wedding or the day after?

Both are possible and we agree on it beforehand. I can stay through the event for touch-ups or leave after the morning. I am also available for a party before the wedding or for the party the day after.

Do styles differ from country to country?

Yes, and it matters more than people expect. What counts as a heavy evening look in one country is everyday makeup in another, and lash sizes differ the same way. I have made up women of many nationalities, so I ask in advance what kind of makeup each person wants to wear. In England I had groups where the bride's whole family wanted the same look, sisters and cousins dressed alike, not as bridesmaids but as a family.

How does the deposit work, and what if the date moves?

The deposit is 50% of the service and it is what actually holds the date. I can pencil you in without it, but the booking is not confirmed: if someone else pays the deposit for the same date, the date goes to them. The deposit is not refundable, because from that moment I stop taking other bookings for that day. If the wedding is cancelled or moved to another date we talk it through and find something that works for both of us.

Do you travel anywhere for the Refresh?

The Refresh is done in Bacău and the surrounding area. We settle it at booking, depending on the wedding venue.

How early can you come on the wedding morning?

What is the Makeup Refresh?
I build the morning makeup as a luminous base, for the ceremony and the photo session. In the evening I come back and take it further: I refresh the skin, intensify the eyes and the lips, for the light at the party. Most of my clients choose this option.
How long does the Makeup Refresh take and where is it done?
At the venue where you are, in the evening, before the party. It takes 20 to 30 minutes. It costs 200 RON separately, or it is included in the package with the trial and the Refresh.
What is the Bridal Group Experience?
It is for brides who get ready alongside the most important women of their day. It costs 2200 RON without the bridal trial, or 2500 RON with the trial, and is available when you book together, you and at least four other people. On the wedding day I travel to the venue for a free Makeup Refresh, for you and for everyone whose makeup I did.
What time do we start the makeup on the wedding day?
We work backwards, from the time you have to be ready. If your first photographs are at 12:00, ideally you are completely ready at 11:00. If the makeup takes an hour and a half, we start at 9:30, and the hair appointment lands around 7:30 or 8:00.
Do I go to hair or makeup first?
I recommend hair first. That way the makeup stays fresh, and at the end you see the complete picture, veil included.
Should I come to the appointment with a bare face?
Yes. Especially on the wedding day it is best to come with clean skin and no makeup. I cleanse your skin beforehand anyway.
Are false lashes included in bridal makeup?
Yes, false lashes are always included, whatever the type of makeup. I use strip, half lashes or clusters, so we find a comfortable option even if you have never worn them.
Is bridal makeup resistant to perspiration and to emotion?
Yes. Longevity comes from how the makeup is built: thin layers, a base adapted to your skin type and, almost always, an anti-perspiration base, because the wedding day is very long.
Do you use waterproof products?
I use waterproof where it matters, on mascara, liner and the eye contour, which is exactly the area that gives way first to emotion. On the rest of the face I go for a base that controls oil and I set in layers, not with one spray at the end.
What do you do with small or hooded eyes?
I work with the eye open, not closed, because on a hooded lid a line drawn with the eye closed disappears completely when you look up. On small eyes I move the focus to the outer corner and to the lashes, and I build the liner short and lifted.
Do you take your kit in hand luggage when you fly?
Yes. I never put my makeup kit in the hold, precisely so I do not risk losing it. I have travelled with the kit before and I keep everything with me.
Which countries do you travel to?
In principle the countries of the European Union, because there the paperwork is simple and no formalities are needed. For other destinations, write to me and we will discuss.
Can I cover blemishes, marks or scars?
Makeup evens out the colour of the skin beautifully, but it does not change its texture. Indented scars, enlarged pores or raised blemishes will show in certain lights. What we can do is even out the colour and the overall look, without loading the skin.
